Bad Web Design Websites

So, I am in the process of building a website dedicated to helping nonprofits build a strong web presence for little to know money. Naturally, I am starting by investigating who my competitors will be. No so much because I want to make a lot of money from the site but so I can figure out what keywords I need to build into my content (I like to call it search engine planning, SEP, so much better than SEO).

As I have been surfing the intrawebs for web design, SEO and web 2.0 types, I have noticed that there are a ton offering the same content that I plan to offer- but I have yet to find a decent looking site.

I cannot help but laugh at the irony of a poorly designed website dedicated to web design. And what is worst, they all seem to offer good advice but seem to just not follow it…

Maybe it is because I am so new to web design I have a very high standard for what a decent website looks like but a few I have seen are a bit ridiculous. For fear of incurring the “wrath of the web” (patent pending), I will not include links to any of those sites, but I am sure you can find them.

So, my promise, I will not put up a crappy website.
